Social Networking is all about using certain types of websites and resources in order to connect and interact with potentially very large groups of people. From the marketer's perspective, the marketing promise of social networking is that you can potentially meet and interact with hundreds or thousands of people who may turn out to be interested in your products or services.
A recent article in WebProNews suggests a number of "social marketing strategies" that should be used by marketers who want to make a positive impact with this rapidly developing marketing approach. They include such things as "Promote Yourself Not Your Product", "Fish Where the Fish Are", "Get Experience In Social Media Before Using it for Marketing" - in all, about 10 different chunks of advice from several experts in the field.
Each of these tips is linked to a video interview with the tipster. For example, here is an interview with Joshua Schachter, founder of del.icio.us where he describes how del.icio.us started and where he wants the company to go.
This is useful stuff.
