Whether you are an aspiring Affiliate Marketer, or just a
potential customer interested in buying the kind of products offered by
affiliate marketers, you should do as much research as you can into how
affiliate marketing really works.
In the Linknet Marketing Resource Library we will be featuring
a number of websites that may be helpful to aspiring affiliate marketers. These
sites provide resource material, information, affiliate reviews, affiliate
opportunities and options. Mostly they tell you "how to make money selling
affiliate products" — usually by buying their products.
Business-Reviews.com
This site is well put together and informative. The site
founder and publisher, T.J.Tonda, claims to take an objective, unbiased view of
popular marketing and affiliate programs, and bases his claim to objectivity on
the fact that he has tried numerous programs, and spent lots of time and money
sorting the wheat from the chaff. The result is a number of interesting and
helpful reviews of gurus like Cory Rudl, Rosalind Gardner, Ken Evoy, and many
others.
For instance T.J. reviews Rosalind Gardner's "Super Affiliate
Handbook" and presents these pros and cons:
PROS:
- Information is straightforward,
well-organized, easy to read, and most importantly, accurate and
reliable.
- It was written by Rosalind Gardner, who
herself makes over $430,000 per year using the same techniques
described in the book.
CONS:
- To make this program work, you do need to
create your own Websites or hire others to create them for you. If
you do not know how to put up Websites, this could be a bit of a
hurdle.

The problem I have with this sort of resource is the
usual one I have about affiliate marketers. They have a vested
interest in promoting the products they are "reviewing", and have
absolutely NO interest in saying anything critical about them. I have
written a fairly well-read rant about this called
The Problem with the Affiliate System.
How are we to trust the reviews of people who profit
from the sale of the products they are reviewing? I guess we just have
to trust that people like T.J. are levelling with us. To be sure, it
is helpful to hear evaluations from people who have "been there, done
that". And, according to T.J. more than five years experience in
profitable internet marketing make these reviews credible and worth
reading.
But there is a difference between a site that prints
no-holds-barred critical reviews, and one that just uses reviews as a
promotional tool to help sell products. Throwing in the occasional
critical comment would help make us believe that the reviews here
really are objective. |
